Can you call it, pretty please?\u201d Brooks said through the door. He wasn\u2019t wearing a coat and was shivering.<\/p>\n<p>Thinking he was homeless, homeowner Dan Rider actually let him inside and even gave him a sandwich.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI get him a ham sandwich and he\u2019s sitting here on my phone pretty much the whole time talking to his mom,\u201d Rider said. \u201cA lot of it I couldn\u2019t understand, to be honest. He was yelling and I heard \u2018mama\u2019 a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rider says he became suspicious when a squad car went by.\u00a0He then\u00a0escorted Brooks outside.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said, \u2018I saw a squad car go by. I\u2019m not comfortable. I need you to leave,\u2019\u201d Rider said. \u201cAnd he listened to me. He said, \u2018OK.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The next video on the Ring camera shows Rider and Brooks exiting the home, with Brooks wearing a jacket the homeowner gave him.<\/p>\n<p>A neighbor saw them and called 911.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew something was out of the ordinary and not right, so I immediately went up my driveway and called 911,\u201d the neighbor told . \u201cI said, \u2018The man that you\u2019re looking for in Waukesha is at my neighbor\u2019s house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brooks was still on the porch when police cornered him.
