Since Microsoft bought Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard last year, people have been speculating about the future of the series.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Microsoft&#8217;s Acquisition and Speculations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Game Pass Inclusion Speculation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft\u2019s first-party games usually launch on Xbox\u2019s subscription service Game Pass on the day they are released. However, there was doubt that Activision Blizzard games would follow suit, particularly as the publisher previously stated that its games would never be available on the service. People were unclear about Call of Duty\u2019s future until eagle-eyed fans noticed what they believed to be an error.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Surprise Notification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both Android and iOS users who have the Xbox Game Pass app\u2019s notifications turned on received a surprise announcement on their phones. The message reads: \u201cCall of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming to Game Pass on day one later this year.\u201d It is believed that Microsoft was supposed to send out this notification around the time that the upcoming Call of Duty\u2019s new trailer premiered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Official Announcement and Showcase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The live-action reveal trailer is scheduled to air in a few hours, at 10am ET \/ 7am PT \/ 3pm UK today (Tuesday, May 28, 2024). Activision officially announced that the next game would be called Black Ops 6 following leaks from a newspaper with adverts for the game.
