Is Shere\u00e9 Whitfield making a comeback on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’? Andy Cohen \u201chopes\u201d so.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In May 2024, Bravo released the official cast for Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta<\/em>. As fans cheered for Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey\u2019s return and fan favorites like Shamea Morton becoming peach holders, to many, one significant name was missing: Shere\u00e9 Whitfield.<\/p>\n

The hope for Shere\u00e9’s return<\/strong>
\nShere\u00e9\u2019s unexpected exit caused an uproar amongst those who felt the OG had more story to tell on the show she helped create.<\/p>\n

The blame quickly went to Bravo and Housewives<\/em> EP Andy Cohen, as fans believed neither realized how much Shere\u00e9 was needed on Atlanta<\/em>. Distractify<\/em> had the pleasure of speaking to Andy during his happy hour for his partnership with Fresca Mixed. In an exclusive chat, he shared that there may be some room for Shere\u00e9 and her Chateau after all!<\/p>\n

Andy’s desire to see Shere\u00e9 back<\/strong>
\nAndy shared that he\u2019s in the trenches with fans who feel Shere\u00e9 deserved more time on RHOA<\/em>. He said he was just as \u201cupset\u201d to see her off of the show as many Bravo watchers were. Andy also confirmed that, while the official Season 16 cast announcement didn\u2019t include Shere\u00e9 as a main cast member, he wants to see her back on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always have hope that we will get a little Shere\u00e9 coming back,\u201d Andy said.<\/p>\n

The potential return of Shere\u00e9<\/strong>
\nAnd as fans continue to make social media posts suggesting the contrary, the Watch What Happens Live<\/em> host also said that Shere\u00e9 has his respect and admiration and said there\u2019s always room for her to make a few shady remarks (and possibly revive her status as the \u201cbone collector\u201d) in future episodes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that Shere\u00e9 is one of the cornerstones of that show,\u201d Andy stated. \u201cShe’s one of my personal favorites.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andy’s thoughts on Shere\u00e9’s return<\/strong>
\nAndy thinks Shere\u00e9 joining RHOA<\/em> with the cast \u201cin some capacity\u201d needs to happen.<\/p>\n

Shere\u00e9\u2019s exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta<\/em> for Season 16 was a part of the show\u2019s choice to pivot, otherwise known as a \u201ccast shakeup.\u201d In addition to Shere\u00e9 leaving, Marlo Hampton, Sanya Richards-Ross, and Shere\u00e9\u2019s friend, Courtney Rhodes, weren\u2019t asked back for another season.<\/p>\n

Kandi Burruss also left the series after 14 seasons, though she has said she was asked back for another season. Season 16 only kept two peach holders from the previous season \u2014 Drew Sidora and Kenya Moore. Porsha also returned, but this time has her BFF Shamea by her side as a peach holder.<\/p>\n

The changing cast dynamics<\/strong>
\nThe well-known Bravo stars will be joined by newbies Brittany \u201cBrit\u201d Eady, Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley. Angela is Shere\u00e9\u2019s ex, Charles Oakley\u2019s wife.<\/p>\n

Since the cast announcement, Shere\u00e9 hasn\u2019t acknowledged her exit publicly. However, she has Andy\u2019s support to play with the Season 16 ladies \u201cin some capacity,\u201d though only time (and how fans respond to the new cast) will tell.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that Shere\u00e9 will be back in some capacity,\u201d Andy shared with us. \u201cI hope she will always be a part of the show in one way or another. She’s Shere\u00e9. She’s an OG.\u201d<\/p>\n
