And she made a lot of money doing it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-dkQUut iepwwt\">\n<p>Along with a credit repair business, Defendant Credit Exterminators, Inc., Dana also had a mobile app-building business called Alakazam. He and his mom started a credit repair business \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jumpingjacktaxes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jumping Jack Taxes<\/a>. But customers said that they never got what they paid for.<\/p>\n<p>People were skeptical of Dana long before now and a lawsuit brought by the Pennslyvania Attorney General proved their suspicions to be true. In fact, it\u2019s been proven that sis was out here robbing people blind for years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-carGAA sc-iTVIwl dpbdIG ipfhlk\" data-nosnippet=\"true\">\n<p>Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 data-header=\"true\" class=\"sc-WZYaI IusWG\">Rumor has it \u2014 Cassandra April Olivera, Dana Chanel\u2019s sister, was in on the whole thing, too. <\/h2>\n<div class=\"sc-dkQUut iepwwt\">\n<p>Apparently, Dana\u2019s scheme was a family affair because her dad, Nakia Rattray, and her sister, Cassaundra April Olivera \u2014 both of whom own stake in her businesses \u2014 were also named in the suit. You see, Dana and her fam didn\u2019t go for the small con. Nope! They were in the big leagues \u2014 that was until 2021 when they got <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/south-jersey-social-media-influencer-philly-based-companies-sued-for-misleading-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sued by the State<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>In September of 2023, their victims finally got justice as Dana was forced to settle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"sc-ksluoS jnYGUA\"><\/figure>\n<div class=\"sc-carGAA sc-iTVIwl dpbdIG ipfhlk\" data-nosnippet=\"true\">\n<p>Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 data-header=\"true\" class=\"sc-WZYaI IusWG\">Dana Chanel settled her case and has to pay $87,000 in restitution. <\/h2>\n<div class=\"sc-dkQUut iepwwt\">\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.attorneygeneral.gov\/taking-action\/ag-henry-reaches-settlement-with-influencer-dana-chanel-for-misleading-consumers\/#:~:text=The%20settlement%20provides%20dozens%20of,repair%20and%20mobile%20app%20services.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press release<\/a> from the Pennslyvania Attorney General\u2019s office reports that the influencer will have to pay more than $87,000 in damages to her victims and <em>another<\/em> $50,000 if she comes up with the money late. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdvertising in today\u2019s world has changed, and people trust personalities they follow online to promote desirable goods,\u201d Attorney General Michelle Henry said in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-dkQUut iepwwt\">\n<p>\u201cIn these cases, consumers were misled by the influencer and businesses that did not deliver on purchases,\u201d she added. \u201cMy office has taken a hard stance against potential harm inflicted on Pennsylvanians online.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As of this writing, Dana has yet to comment on the controversy, but social media has a whole lot to say about it &#8230; In hindsight, she got off <em>really <\/em>easy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christian influencer Dana Chanel is at the center of a scandal after she was sued.
