Mickey Kuhn, a child star who had many credits in the 1930s and 40s. \u201cGone With the Wind\u201d \u201cA Streetcar Named Desire,\u201dBarbara, his wife, told reporters that he died in Naples, Florida at the age 90. <\/p>\n

Kuhn was the last cast member to be credited. \u201cGone With the Wind,\u201dBeau Wilkes plays the role of Ashley and Melanie Wilkes’ son. Kuhn\u2019s most well-known line comes near the end of the film, when Melanie is on her deathbed from pregnancy complications and Beau asks his father, \u201cWhere is my mother going away to? And why can\u2019t I go along, please?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kuhn, de Havilland and their mother-son relationship was portrayed by them separately. They never met and never appeared together on-screen. He told the reporter that he was actually proud of his character. Naples Daily News<\/a> in 2017 that his first meeting with de Havilland didn\u2019t come until 2006 on the Oscar-winning actress\u2019 90th birthday, and he would call her on her birthday every year until her death in 2020. <\/p>\n

Kuhn also stated to the Naples Daily News, that his first film role was in 1934 as an infant. \u201cChange of Heart\u201dStarring Charles Farrell, Janet Gaynor. The audition was only after Janet Gaynor, a Sears Roebuck woman, told her mother there was an audition on Fox for infants and suggested that they both pass their children off to the Fox as infants. Beau was the only child chosen from hundreds of applicants to be in Beau’s role. \u201cGone With The Wind\u201dHe appeared in films like “The Last of the Mob” five years later. \u201cJuarez\u201dStarring Bette Davis and Paul Muni \u201cRed River\u201d as John Wayne\u2019s adoptive son, and opposite James Stewart in \u201cBroken Arrow.\u201d <\/p>\n

1951 saw him play a part in a little role with a friend. \u201cGone With the Wind\u201d star Vivien Leigh in \u201cA Streetcar Named Desire,\u201dBlanche DuBois receives instructions from Kuhn as a sailor. Kuhn was able to play the role of Blanche DuBois’ sailor in both of her Oscar-winning films. <\/p>\n

After a four year stint in the Navy Kuhn retired in 1957 and was cast in three episodes on CBS. \u201cAlfred Hitchcock Presents.\u201dThen he was offered a job with American Airlines as an airport manager. He worked in terminals in Washington D.C., Boston and until his retirement in 1995. <\/p>\n

Kuhn’s wife Barbara, his son Mick (and Jolene), his daughter Patricia, and granddaughter Samantha are his surviving relatives.<\/p>\n
