People immediately think of Mariah Carey when they see the first snowflake for the year. The Queen of Christmas is the name that Mariah Carey is best known for, but a court recently rejected her bid to trademark the title.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Carey\u2019s biggest song is the holiday hit \u201cAll I Want for Christmas is You.\u201dThe song has been sold more than 16 million times worldwide and is certified Diamond by RIAA (the only holiday tune to have this honor). Carey has also received a reported $60 Million in royalties.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year Carey filed a trademark request for the phrase. \u201cQueen of Christmas.\u201dShe also tried to trademark this abbreviation \u201cQOC,\u201dAlso available: \u201cPrincess Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has officially rejected Carey’s application. Carey was denied the title for one reason. She nor her company\u2014through which she filed the application\u2014did not respond to opposition from another singer.<\/p>\n Elizabeth Chan, who was awarded the \u201cQueen of Christmas\u201dTitle by The New Yorker <\/em>In 2018, put out holiday albums every single year.
