If you’re like us, it’s been a while. However, you’re not alone.<\/p>\n

In fact, the average Brit has almost \u00a3800 worth of unworn clothes in their wardrobes – but 30 per cent intend to buy even more items before having a clear out.<\/p>\n

A poll of 2,000 adults found 32 per cent admit they have too many clothes but they can\u2019t resist the lure of a new outfit.<\/p>\n

Over four out of ten (43%) have purchased an item online and not loved it, but still kept it.<\/p>\n

With 59 per cent of those who\u2019ve done this admitting they \u2018couldn\u2019t be bothered\u2019 to return it.<\/p>\n

55% of those surveyed threw their perfectly good clothes away, rather than selling or giving them away.<\/p>\n

Only 67% of respondents (or more than two-thirds) have yet to decide against clearing out their wardrobes or making extra money by selling unwanted items online.<\/p>\n

But the study, commissioned by Samsung UK, found the 33 per cent who\u2019ve tried their hand at selling garments in this way have earnt an of average \u00a3350 to date, with 20 per cent bringing in \u00a3500 or more.<\/p>\n

Love Island star Tasha Ghouri said: \u201cSelling clothes online is about to become your next side hustle.<\/p>\n

\u201cPutting the effort in to capturing the best photos for your online listing will help you sell more items, for better prices and at a faster pace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I shop second-hand, I always want to see what it looks like with someone wearing it, so make sure you capture pictures with you in it to drive more interest.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the study, people can get bored with the same clothing if it is worn six times.<\/p>\n

It was also revealed that 49% of respondents have given up on selling clothes online, despite having tried unsuccessfully to do so in the past.<\/p>\n

39% admit that they struggle to get the clothes right through photos.<\/p>\n

And they may be on to something \u2013 35 per cent said poor quality images but them off purchasing pre-loved clothes online through marketplace sellers.<\/p>\n

Other factors that have similar effects include unclear or vague descriptions (40%) and price (34%).<\/p>\n

OnePoll did however find that 48 percent would rather recycle their clothes or re-sell them than throw them away in the face of environmental disasters.<\/p>\n

Ashrita Seshadri, from Samsung UK, said: \u201cPeople are clearly wanting to find alternatives to throwing away their unwanted clothes, but many are feeling held back by the thought and process of reselling.<\/p>\n
