More than 2million Brits have tested positive for Covid-19 in one week, which is the highest level since July, figures indicate. <\/p>\n

According to the latest data from ONS, Covid cases increased by 15% in the week ending October 10 compared to the previous week. <\/p>\n

This comes as scientists warned of a so-called\u00a0‘swarm’ of Omicron strains\u00a0that could threaten winter.<\/p>\n

The infection survey data, however, is not up to par. Zoe Symptom tracker<\/a>This shows that cases are already falling. <\/p>\n

According to the tracker, around one in 21 people in the UK have\u00a0the bug\u00a0– with numbers now also falling in the youngest age groups.<\/p>\n

ZOE experts revealed that the current number of infections is currently estimated at 209,243, a drop from 235,829 last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

According to medics, the decrease in cases indicates that the current wave is over.<\/p>\n

The rates of infections seem to have declined in all age groups with the greatest declines in those aged between 0-17 years.<\/p>\n

NHS England also released data this week showing a slower rate of hospital admissions.<\/p>\n

The latest Covid wave cases have not reached the same highs as those at the peak of the pandemic. T<\/p>\n

This is due to the millions of people who have been vaccinated or boosted against the disease. <\/p>\n

This data includes all Brits who have recorded their symptoms using the app, regardless how many jabs they’ve had.<\/p>\n
