The merger would bring together the media empires under one roof after Murdoch split his holdings into News Corp (primarily publishing) and Fox Corp. (mainly TV).<\/p>\n<p>Murdoch, 91 is currently the executive chair of both businesses. His son Lachlan is the co-chair at News Corp and executive chairman and CEO of Fox.<\/p>\n<p>The Journal reports that Fox Corp.&#8217;s market cap is approximately $17 billion.
