{"id":137580,"date":"2022-10-06T14:20:49","date_gmt":"2022-10-06T08:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centralrecorder.com\/utah-man-survives-40-foot-fall-from-tree\/"},"modified":"2022-10-06T14:21:04","modified_gmt":"2022-10-06T08:51:04","slug":"utah-man-survives-40-foot-tree-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/centralrecorder.com\/utah-man-survives-40-foot-tree-fall\/","title":{"rendered":"Utah Man Survives 40-Foot Tree Fall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div>\n<p>Utah man was doing a routine tree-removal before he tragically fell 40 feet to his death.<\/p>\n<p>Dayde Collins, owner of Blade\u2019s Tree Removal, fell 40 feet from a tree when his anchor branch broke, hit a shed, and then fell to the ground, according to the family\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/fundraiser-for-dayde-collins-family\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GoFundMe page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe branch that he was using as an anchor just broke under him,&#8221; Karly, Dayde\u2019s wife, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13now.com\/news\/local-news\/utah-tree-trimmer-falls-40-feet-from-tree-in-tragic-accident\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told<\/a> Fox 13.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;An old tree, just disintegrated, and on the way down, he hit another branch and took a lot of trauma to his shoulder, ribcage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to GoFundMe, Dayde is currently suffering from five broken bones, a fractured right shoulder, and a punctured lungs.<\/p>\n<p>Fox 13&#8217;s Karly stated that Dayde has been trimming trees since nearly two years. He has done hundreds of jobs and has never had an accident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe&#8217;s the most safe person that you can think of,&#8221; she told the outlet. &#8220;He&#8217;s always told me he wears his harness when he&#8217;s climbing. He has spiked shoes. He always wears long sleeve shirts just to protect his arms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fox 11 reported Dayde had a successful back operation, but he is still unable to feel his chest.<\/p>\n<p>Fox 13 reports that Dayde competed in the DEKA FIT global contest while representing the National Guard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The boy can run 18 miles at the drop of a hat,&#8221;Karly spoke to the outlet. \u201cThe hallmark of Dayde is adventure, and it&#8217;ll be really hard to transition out of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Fox 13, the Collins family wants to raise $100,000 for a van with ramps, and other accessibility features to send Dayde to Colorado&#8217;s spinal center.<\/p>\n<p>Dayde\u2019s brain did not suffer any damage, which his family is grateful for.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best news about Dayde\u2019s accident is that miraculously he doesn\u2019t have any brain damage, which means he is still my Dayde.
