Former Doctors were a great surprise to fans. <u>Catherine Tennant and David Tennant will be back for a new adventure<\/u>And that <u>Neil Patrick Harris plays a mysterious villain<\/u>. Some people are miffed that we hear about these big reveal so early in the special&#8217;s premiere. David Tennant, however, tried to put those fears to rest at a recent event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fan Expo Boston hosted David Tennant, who spoke briefly to the audience and answered questions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GlDtwS8a4R8\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GlDtwS8a4R8\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>During his panel<\/u><\/a>About returning to <em>Doctor Who<\/em>For the 60th anniversary of the beloved sci-fi classic. Tennant stated that it was necessary for the franchise to announce his return earlier due to filming in very public areas. But he teased that there were still many surprises in store for fans, adding:<\/p>\n<figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We were fortunate or somewhat unfortunate to be filming scenes that were not openly available. We had to admit that we were in it. Most of what\u2019s been filmed with other people has all been inside. So, there\u2019s lots more coming than people think, which is exciting.\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<aside class=\"hawk-nest\" data-render-type=\"fte\" data-skip=\"dealsy\" data-widget-type=\"seasonal\"><\/aside>\n<p>It is thrilling to hear about more surprises that are being planned at locations that are not accessible for public filming. This may explain why fans have seen. <u>Beloved actors such as the late Bernard Cribbins<\/u> on set, but we haven\u2019t heard about or seen footage of incoming Doctor Ncuti Gatwa yet. This was just reported. <u>Gatwa isn\u2019t scheduled to start filming for his upcoming season until November<\/u>, but that doesn\u2019t mean he couldn\u2019t have had a short scene in the 60th as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fans who hope to see Matt Smith or Peter Capaldi in the adventure should be encouraged by this news. There\u2019s also a chance we\u2019ll see former companion actors like Karen Gillan or Jenna Coleman, it really feels like the sky is the limit following David Tennant\u2019s latest remarks.<\/p>\n<p>David Tennant continued on and teased the FanExpo attendees about what\u2019s in store for the 60th-anniversary celebration. The actor briefly touched upon the <u>His reprisal as The Doctor caused confusion<\/u>, and how he\u2019s back together with Donna Noble after their last encounter:\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>No one has yet figured out what Catherine and me are doing there. I think there\u2019s a lot of theory, a lot of speculation. I\u2019m very excited for people to see the tiny little cog that we are in Russell\u2019s great machine.\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Rumours abound about the plans. <em>Doctor Who<\/em>\u2019s future every since the show announced Russell T. Davies\u2019 return, such as the hypothetical idea that the franchise will lean into creating a multiverse for its characters, providing opportunities to create new adventures. Some think David Tennant\u2019s Doctor and Donna Noble returning means they&#8217;re from another universe, but as Tennant hinted at, that idea is but one of many speculative avenues that fans have been paving ahead of the characters&#8217; return. Hopefully, all these surprises will be as satisfying as fans hope, and we\u2019ll enjoy celebrate <em>Doctor Who<\/em>In the best possible ways in 2023\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>Doctor Who<\/em> will return in the fall with Jodie Whittaker\u2019s final episode, but fans can watch everything leading up to it right now provided they have an <u>HBO Max Subscription<\/u>.
