It\u2019s a dramedy set to make you weep, but where were the beautiful scenes of Prime Video\u2019s Don\u2019t Make Me Go filmed?<\/strong><\/p>\n Starring John Cho and rising star Mia Isaac, Don\u2019t Make Me Go follows the story of a terminally ill father teaching his daughter about life before he passes. Hannah Marks, the director, commented on the filming process. Screen Rant<\/a>:<\/p>\n She stated: \u201cWe actually filmed in New Zealand, so we filmed in Auckland in the winter, which was pretty crazy for an American summer road trip movie. Thankfully, as an American, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on what those parts of the country looked like, and we tried to replicate them as best as we could.\u201d<\/p>\n She admitted that they sometimes struggled. \u201cthe beautiful New Zealand landscapes [\u2026] didn\u2019t look like America.\u201d<\/p>\n Largely, Don\u2019t Make Me Go <\/em>Filmed in Auckland’s metropolitan area. More filming in Auckland happened at Muriwai beach and the T\u0101wharanui Peninsula as well.<\/p>\n The crew also visited Christchurch, New Zealand for some hospital scenes. For filming purposes, the crew shut down an entire highway in the area. This is something that isn’t possible in the US.<\/p>\n Hannah Marks, the director, posted many of the New Zealand filming processes to Instagram.
