Track and field fans, get your water bottles full because the World Athletic Championships will return to America for the first time ever.
British athletes Katarina Thomson-Johnson and Dina Asher Smith made their nation proud by winning gold in the 2019 edition.
However, the duo will have to wait for their defense two years as organizers had to postpone the event due to the pandemic.

The legendary event is held from TOMORROW Friday, July 15It ends on Sunday, July 24,
Although each day has a different starting time, the opening day will be the same. 6:15pm UK Time – 9:15am locally.
This year will make history as the United States will host the first outdoor World Championships.
Hayward Field, the University of Oregon’s Eugene, America, is the designated arena that can accommodate around 25,000 people.

However, US viewers can watch the tournament via NBC and Peacock.

Dina Asher Smith was a gold medalist and admitted that she is excited to run in the US.
The British champion said: think it’s going to be an amazing Championships in the U.S.,”
“We don’t run in America very often, and I would love to run in America more often. I would love to be able to compete in America, with the coverage on TV and all the media attention that comes with major championships.
“I really hope there are more American meets in the future. Having a huge competition in the U.S. is going to be really important for us all, because it’s such a huge and exciting place to run.”
