William and Kate ‘anxious’ over ‘popularity contest’ with Harry and Meghan, says expert

Prince William and Kate Middleton are “anxious” about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s photoshoot for Time magazine, claims a royal expert.

Duncan Larcombe reckons that the Cambridges are concerned about a “transatlantic popularity contest” after the Sussexes were named in Time magazine’s top 100 most influential people of the year.

The list includes icons like Britney and Dolly Parton.

Harry and Meghan featured in a glossy photoshoot for the magazine this week, which was the first time they had been cover stars together, reports OK!.

According to Larcombe, “Kate’s and William’s popularity contest is in danger.”

Larcombe also said that Harry’s upcoming memoir will be concerning the Cambridges

“They will feel anxious over the cover and everything Harry and Meghan do as it always seems to reflect on them.

“William and Kate are concerned about absolutely everything that comes out of America in regards to Harry and Meghan, especially Harry’s tell-all warts and all memoir that’s gonna hit the shelves sometime next year.

“They have no control over the narrative.”

The Sussexes posed for a range of glammed-up snaps inside the magazine

The Sussexes’ snaps were accompanied by a write-up from close friend Jose Andres, who gushed over their compassion and desire to overcome struggles.

He added: “Springing into action is not the easy choice for a young duke and duchess who have been blessed through birth and talent, and burned by fame.

“It would be much safer to enjoy their good fortune and stay silent.

“That’s not what Harry and Meghan do, or who they are.”

This comes after body language expert Judi James shared her analysis of the snaps, claiming that they reveal a power imbalance between the royal couple “weighting in Meghan’s favour” as Harry “follows”.

The cover shows Meghan in a white jumpsuit, her hands clasped and Harry resting his arm on her shoulder.

Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties at the start of the year

James said: “She was the lead in the Oprah interview and Harry arrived later, with Meghan placing her hand on his to offer reassurance as he told his tale of woe.

“His power and status signals did increase as he spoke to Oprah but the interview was primarily between the two strong and confident women.”
