Wildfire Saves 12 Herons

Bolivian environmentalists released 12 herons into the wild after they were burned in a fire last summer.

The Cocha-Bamba’s Ministry of Environment, and the Higher University of San Simon are responsible.

These environmentally-focused folks nursed the large birds back to health after the fire ravaged through their natural habitat.

According to environmental authorities, 15 herons had been rescued by the Alalay lake after a wildfire.

Smoke inhalation led to dizziness in the birds and made them unable to fly.

The environmentalists released three birds back into the wild before the rest were able to return home safely.
