Why you shouldn’t eat the bread rolls that come with your plane ticket

You might consider giving the bread roll a miss before you order your airline meal.

Experts recommend that you avoid eating them if you don’t want to feel sick after landing.

Experts warn you not to be seduced by bread rolls while on a flight.

Charles Platkin (executive director of Hunter College NYC Food Policy Center) reviewed a variety of airline meals and advised that high-carbohydrate foods will not fill you up and leave you feeling tired upon arrival.

Unfortunately, this also means that food such as pasta and cakes will be removed from the menu unless you are feeling ill while on holiday.

He said Travel & Leisure“Eating too many carbs, such as pasta with thick, dense sauces or breads, or muffins, will cause you to feel lethargic, cranky and not satisfied.

“Your blood sugar levels will spike and then fall, which will negatively impact how you feel.”

You won’t find them as tasty in the sky, and they won’t taste as good.

The cabin pressure can affect your taste buds, which in turn reduces oxygen levels in your blood.

The part of your nervous system that detects smells decreases, making your senses of smell even more sensitive.

Fritz Gross, LSG Sky Chefs Asia Pacific director of culinary excellence explained that there were two main meals you can choose if they are to taste good: stews or rice.

They can be easily reheated without losing their texture or flavor.

He said: “We can simmer it and reheat it over and over and it will still be a stew.”

If you are really keen to indulge in the creamy pasta dish, there are plenty of things that you can do.

Charles Spence is an expert on taste, food and sound. He said that plane noises can make food taste bitter up to 10%.

He spoke to the Telegraph: “Donning a pair of noise-cancelling headphones could actually be one of the simplest ways in which to make food and drink taste better at altitude.

“The lower cabin pressure, dry cabin air and loud engine noise all contribute to our inability to taste and smell food and drink.”

And these are the five drinks you should also never order on a flight – and the one that you should.
