What is the hottest spot in Spain?

Andalusia is Spain’s hottest region. In the summer, temperatures average over 36C in cities such as Seville and Cordoba.

With an average annual temperature of 19C, Seville is Spain’s hottest city. There are many days in a year that are more than 40C.

The city’s annual average temperature is 25.4C during the daytime while it dips to just 13C at night.

Madrid can, however, push a few degrees over Seville during the summer months of May-June, even if for a brief moment.

What is the hottest temperature of Spain?

Seville has a disputable historical record high of 50C. But this was in 1881, and pre-dates modern recording technology.

August 2021 was the hottest day on record for temperature. Montoro in Andalusian reached 47.4C.

Seville and Cordoba regularly see temperatures above 35C in the height of summer when Spain’s temperatures hit their peak.

Madrid, an inland area, can sometimes be hotter during these months due to the lack of cooling coastal breezes.

Madrid’s average July-August temperature is 32C. But it can get as high as 38C. Seville can reach 35C but only for a short time.

What is the best time of year to visit?

It all depends on the type of holiday you are looking for.

In the months of January to April, temperatures across Spain vary around the teens, so it’s great for an active break such as hiking or cycling.

Spain has temperatures in the low to middle 20s in May and Juni, making it perfect for city breaks or light activity holidays.

The Costa Del Sol in Andalusia has a scorching summer temperature of 35C with very little rain.

Even in the cooler areas of the coast, such as Bilbao, temperatures can exceed 25C late summer.

Autumn is the hottest season in Andalusia. Madrid is slightly cooler than Madrid, and Madrid is about 25C with warm seas.

Temperatures across Spain drop rapidly from September to October, but it’s a good season for a wine tour.

Is there anything else hot in Spain?

The Canary Islands off the West Coast of Spain are part of Spanish territory. They offer year-round warmth with an average August temperature of 24C.
