Watch the Rolling Stones play ‘Gimme Shelter’ at their Tour Finale

The Rolling Stones spent nearly two months touring America’s football stadiums with their No Filter tour. They wrapped up the tour Tuesday night at Hollywood’s Hard Rock Live. The casino amphitheater holds 7,000 people in comparison to the stadiums which hold roughly ten times the number. Tickets were priced at upwards of $2,000 and went for more on the resale marketplace.

Although the set contained 17 songs, it was not as long as the 19 that are played in most cities, they still managed to include most of the standard hits, including “Street Fighting Man,” “Miss You,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Paint it Black, and “Honky Tonk Women.”It was concluded with “Gimme Shelter”And “Satisfaction.”

One fan sat near the front of stage, shot the “Gimme Shelter”You can see the result on his phone above. He deserves some sort of bootleg Academy Award since it’s one of the greatest fan-shot concert videos we’ve ever seen. Matt LeeThank you. (Check out his “Miss You”Video below.

Since it was after Charlie Watts’ death, this tour was very emotional for both the Stones as well as their fans. He hadn’t missed a gig since joining the group in January 1963. Steve Jordan, a longtime Stones associate, did an outstanding job in the very difficult task of playing his parts.

While the setlist focused on their hits as usual, they also honored the faithful with lesser-known tunes such as “19th Nervous Breakdown,” “All Down The Line,” “Rock Off,” “Shattered,” “Fool to Cry,” “Connection,” “Monkey Man,” “Sad Sad Sad,”And “Get Off of My Cloud.”

The Stones haven’t announced any future tour dates, but there are heavy rumors that they’re plotting a 60th anniversary tour of Europe next year. Their last two tours focused exclusively on North America, and they’re long overdue to hit other markets, including Australia, Asia, and South America. It’s possible that the Florida show could be their last American gig, but it feels unlikely. For 40 years people speculate that the Stones will end their tour, but the band keeps proving them wrong.
