Wakanda Forever siren scene stirs fear in fans

How can you top Black Panther? The answer is simple: you don’t. The 2018 MCU blockbuster was a huge success and is considered to be a cultural landmark in the world of cinema. Tragically, its central star Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer in 2020, and T’Challa’s absence is felt in the sequel.

Ryan was back at the helm, and several actors reprised their roles. The team tried to honor Chadwick and create a new experience.

Wakanda Forever is a unique film from its predecessor in a number of ways, and it’s arguably more ambitious with its new characters and mythology.

Speaking of which, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever siren scene is proving to sear itself into the brains of many audiences…

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever siren scene explained

If we think back to ancient Greek mythology sirens are often linked with The Odyssey. The creatures are described as beings that tempt sailors with their hypnotic song.

They drown when they are in the water.

The people of Talokan are part of Wakanda forever. They’re led by Namor the Sub-Mariner (played by Tenoch Huerta), who along with the other citizens has the ability to breathe underwater.

The memorable sequence features the Talokans singing to station officers and then they foolishly dive into the water, mesmerized by the siren’s call.

You can hear their lure all around the station. We learn that the trick caused the men to drown by jumping.
