For people between 40 and 49, the online booking service is now open. They can book a slot for six months after receiving their second dose.

To be more protected against Covid, teens between 16 and 17 years old can now book their second vaccine jab.
All those who are able to obtain their extra doses of medication have been urged not to delay, as they will be fully protected on Christmas Day.
Health and Social Care Secretary Sajid Javid said: “Getting your Covid-19 booster vaccine is the best way to keep yourself and your loved ones safe this winter and will help reduce the pressure on the NHS.
“While the government is continuing to monitor a wide range of data to ensure the country remains protected, we have very sadly seen a surge in cases in parts of Europe.
“The most important thing we can do to stop a similar rise in this country is get the jab – so please get your vaccines as soon as you can so we can keep the virus at bay.”
The UK Health Security Agency released new data last week that showed the importance of the booster jab.
Researchers found that top-up jabs increase protection against symptomatic Covid for adults over 50.
It was also found that two weeks after receiving a booster dose, protection from symptomatic infection in adults 50+ was 93.1 percentage in those who took Oxford/AstraZeneca and 94.0 percent in Pfizer.
This means that people who had their booster vaccination by 11 December will be very protected against Covid-19 on Christmas Day.
To protect themselves and their families, and to relieve pressure on the NHS, the increase in cases has led to a return to Europe’s lockdown restrictions. Those who are eligible for a booster should accept it as soon as they can.
A booster is available to those who are eligible. This appointment can be booked up to five months in advance. The booster will give you a shot as soon as your six-month mark.

The NHS online walk-in locater can be used by those eligible to find the most convenient location.
The UK has 14 million residents who have received their booster vaccines. This provides crucial protection for the winter.
Vaccines Minister Maggie Throup said: “We must protect the gains we have made through our vaccination programme this winter, and I urge everybody to help make this happen
“Please get your boosters when eligible, and get your first and second doses if you haven’t already, to secure vital protection during the winter to keep you and your loved ones safe.”
