Experts believe that the removal of Covid restrictions will lead to more nightlife, particularly for young adults.

Plus, it’s easier to spot a problem when there is more social interaction.

Drinkaware found that pals are most likely to cause concern, followed by partners or parents.

However, Karen Tyrell, CEO, stated: “There are things we can do to help.”

These include drinking-free days and the Drinkaware App to keep your habit in check.

Four in ten people surveyed said someone’s drinking has impacted their life this year.

Most people complain about being awake at night.

Other complaints included alcohol-fuelled arguments, emotional pain or feeling letdown.

The NHS says we should not drink more than 14 units — six pints of beer or six medium glasses of wine — each week.

The target was exceeded by 30 percent of men and 15% women.
