Interview with IndieWire, “Bullet Train”Kelly McCormick, producer, revealed that Michael Shannon was cast as White Death in indirect response to Shannon almost playing Cable. “Deadpool 2.”She said that Shannon was her original choice to play Cable and that if not for conflicting schedules, she would have seen him onscreen. McCormick however has no regrets. She said that Brolin was so good in the role, she couldn’t imagine what it would have been like if someone else had.
Shannon would have been able to play Cable, a rare performer who has done both Marvel films and DC films. This includes J.K Simmons, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Keaton.
