The eighth season of The 100 is one of the much-awaited post-apocalyptic science fiction that the streaming platform offers. The way the seventh season concluded, fans are wondering if there will be the eighth season. The 100 is one of the essential offerings of The CW, which premiere back on May 20, 2020.

Additionally, the seventh season featured 16 episodes. However, the makers of The 100 revealed that the seventh season would also be the last. Also, the seven seasons featured around 100 episodes across seven different seasons.

The 100: Will there be an eighth season?

Jason Rothenberg, the showrunner of The 100, said that the seventh season finale was the end. It was the goal of the entire team to end the series with the seventh season.

Mark Pedowitz, the CW president, has already explained that he had several discussions with Rothenberg and Jason came up with some ideas about what he wants to do with the series. Additionally, he also said that whatever Jason has thought is something they should stick to.

The 100 will feature a spin-off series

The spin-off series will focus more on the reality of the world as these people have already lived through the trying times. Jason plans to introduce something close to Lost-series kind of flashbacks. In addition to this, the spin-off also has a name, i.e., The 100: Second Dawn which takes place a couple of years after the events of the original series.
