Teen Choice Awards: Life away from the spotlight

The Bratz girls with a passion for fashion came alive 15 years ago today (August 3) in 2007’s teen comedy, so what have the fabulous four and their classmates been up to since?

The age-old question of which doll is better – Bratz or Barbie – still stands, but there’s one thing the former beat their competition to: releasing a live-action movie based on the famous characters. Although Barbie, starring Margot Robertbie and Ryan Gosling is still in production, Bratz released their film 15 year ago.

Although it was nominated for several Golden Raspberry awards, the cringey dialogue and Y2K costumes make it a guilty pleasure.

Where is the Bratz cast now

Nathalia Ramos (Yasmin)

Ramos, now 30, was just 15 years of age when she got the role as Yasmin. She is a music-loving teen and finds a connection in Dylan, her deaf friend.

Since her 2007 role, she has only appeared in eight more, the most famous being as House Of Anubis’ Nina Martin. Ramos’ last acting gig came in 2015’s Seoul Searching.

Ramos, who has been mother to her son Theo since July 2022, was occupied with motherhood. She shares the boy with Derek An. After a 13 year relationship, they were married in December 2021.

Skyler Shaye (Cloe)

Like Ramos, Skyler Shaye’s acting career has been relatively quiet since she portrayed soccer superstar Cloe. She played Kylie Bobbins in 2004’s Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2, leading to three more appearances in its sequels.

The 35-year-old actress cameoed in three Grey’s Anatomy episodes and currently resides in New Mexico with partner and musician Christian Lopez.

Janel Parrish (Jade)

Parrish is the most popular Bratz actress. Parrish, 33, is one the most successful Asian actresses Hollywood has ever seen.

Other than her film debut as secret fashionista Jade, she’s best known as Pretty Little Liars antagonist Mona Vanderwaal. She was the original and first A to be named Teen Choice Award’s best villain for four years.

She married Chris Long in September 2018 after two years of dating. Two weeks prior to the wedding, her father-in law tragically died in a car accident.

Logan Browning (Sasha)

Portraying cheerleader Sasha was the perfect training for her starring role as Hit the Floor’s Jelena Howard, the cheerleading captain of the fictional Los Angeles Devil Girls.

Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse series and the Proud Family reboot are just a few of her credits. The 33-year-old has made her name as a Netflix celebrity with Dear White People. This comedy series follows several black college students and discusses American race relations.

Chelsea Kane (Meredith Baxter Dimly).

If Kane looks familiar, it’s because she’s a certified Disney star. She began her journey with Minutemen alongside Jason Dolley. Later, she moved on to Starstruck along with Sterling Knight, another Disney star.

Meanwhile, her gig as Stella Malone – Joe Jonas’ love interest- on Jonas established her as a fan favorite. She even appeared in the Disney Channel Games – if that’s not confirmation, we don’t know what is.

Kane was a skilled ballroom dancer when she placed third on Dancing With The Stars 2011. Recurring roles in the past decade include One Tree Hill and Netflix’s The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia.

Bratz can be streamed on Netflix right now
