TV’s biggest night has officially returned to the silver screen.
“Ted Lasso” and HBO’s “Mare of Easttown” both started off the night strong. Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein of “Ted Lasso” took home awards for best supporting actress and actor in a comedy, respectively, while Julianne Nicholson and Evan Peters won for their supporting roles in the limited series “Mare of Easttown.”
“The Crown” racked up four awards in the first hour of the night, including wins for writing, directing, supporting actress and supporting actor.
Heading into the night, galactic action and British royalty lead the pack in nominations, with “The Mandalorian” and “The Crown” tying with 24 nominations. Other strong contenders include Disney+’s inaugural Marvel show “WandaVision” and Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso,” which nabbed 23 and 20 nominations respectively.
