Swift was able to defend herself and her art when Swift’s credibility was being threatened online.

Long-time Swifties are well aware of the importance of “Cruel Summer”Unless her name is being challenged, the singer won’t get involved in drama. In fact, it could be said that Swift’s career growing up in fame was solidified by her largely staying out of politics and drama altogether—which is what makes her recent tweet all the more thrilling.

Swift doesn’t usually make public statements, but her fans will still come down swinging.

Damon Albarn, Blur’s frontman, stated that Swift doesn’t write all her songs.

“She doesn’t write her own songs,”Swift writes both co-writing and written, he stated. He also notes that he is not a co-writer. “hating on anybody,”It is hurtful and simply not true to discredit the talent and artistry of someone.

Swift has written all of her songs in the span of her lengthy career—a fact that remains unchanged whether or not she writes it solo or alongside co-writers.

Swift was able to defend herself in a very uncharacteristic tweet, which has been applauded by her fans on social networking.

“@DamonAlbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs,”Her tweet started.

She continued: “Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really fucked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW.”


Swift wrote: “PS I wrote this tweet all by myself in case you were wondering.”


Swift’s tweet has been noticed by Albarn and she replied to her: “I totally agree with you. i had a conversation about songwriting and sadly it was reduced to clickbait. I apologise unreservedly and unconditionally. The last thing I would want to do is discredit your songwriting. I hope you understand. – Damon.”

Swifties all around the world came together to praise Swift and lament the patriarchal nature in the music business. (Even a Tweet from the Empire State Building’s official Twitter page was sent in support.
