Sundance Institute Board Of Trustees Adds Lulu Wang, More

Central Recorderdance Institute announced the addition of Shripriya Mahash, Lulu Wang, and Patrick Gaspard as trustees to its Board of Trustees. These three individuals will help direct and act in advisory capacities for the organization. They will work closely with Ebsburnough, the Board Chair, as well as Joana Vicente (CEO),

Mahesh is the founder partner of Spero Ventures. He is also an investor, technology executive, and filmmaker. Wang is an award-winning producer, director, and writer best known for creating the A24 dramedy.FarewellFeatured in two Independent Spirit Awards including Best Feature. Gaspard is a leader in government, labor, and global diplomacy. He serves as the President and CEO at The Center for American Progress.

“The new trustees bring an invaluable depth of experience in government and civic engagement, technology and digital product development, and deep knowledge of the media, entertainment, and storytelling landscape,”Burnough. “As Sundance’s programs continue to meet the evolving needs of independent artists, we welcome these three new Trustees who, together with the Board, will continue to strengthen ways to champion independent storytellers.”

Wang replied, “I am interested in joining the Board.” “Sundance played a pivotal role in launching my filmmaking career and I’m honored to join the Institute’s Board to help usher in a new wave of filmmakers with singular voices.”

Mahesh, Wang and Gaspard join a Board at the Institute led by President & Founder Robert Redford, as well as Burnough and Vice Chairs Sean Bailey and Gigi Pritzker. Other members include Jason Blum, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Philipp Engelhorn, Caterina Fake, Jeanne Donovan Fisher, Robert J. Frankenberg, Donna Gruneich, Cindy Harrell Horn, Uzodinma Iweala, Amanda Kelso, Charles D. King, Lisa Kron, Lyn Davis Lear, Ann Lewnes, Wonya Lucas, Alejandro Ramírez Magaña, Pat Mitchell, Bill Plapinger, Amy Redford, Geoffrey K. Sands, Junaid Sarieddeen, Nadine Schiff-Rosen, Barry Tyerman, and Lynette Wallworth.

As of today, the Board is composed of 45% men, 55% women and 11 members who identify themselves as BIPOC.
