Storm Reid joins HBO’s Video Game Adaptation of ‘The Last of Us’

“Euphoria” star Storm Reid has joined the cast of HBO’s series adaptation of video game “The Last of Us.”

Based on Naughty dog’s popular Playstation game, “The Last of Us”It takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting after a deadly virus wipes out nearly all of the modern civilization. Joel, played b “The Mandalorian”Pedro Pascal, the star of the film, is hired by Bella Ramsey to help Ellie (14 years old) get out of a quarantine to an organization looking for a cure. The two must depend on one another for survival as they travel across the U.S. Reid will play Riley, a Boston-based orphan who quickly makes friends with Ellie.

“The Last of Us”Cast also includes Gabriel Luna playing Tommy, Merle Daridge as Marlene and Jeffrey Pierce playing Perry. Anna Torv plays Tess. Nico Parker is Sarah. Murray Bartlett plays Frank. Nick Offerman is Bill. Craig Mazin will produce and write the script. “The Last of Us,”Neil Druckmann is the writer and creative director of the video game. Carolyn Strauss, Rose Lam, Naughty Dog president Evan Wells and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will also executive produce. Kantemir Balagov will direct the pilot, with Jasmila Žbanić and Ali Abbasi also attached to direct. The pilot is a coproduction with Sony Pictures Television. PlayStation Productions and Word Games are involved in the production of Naughty Dog.

Reid is the little sister to Rue (Zendaya), a fellow HBO hit “Euphoria,”In her film debut, “12 Years a Slave”In 2013, and has been a star in the movie Everest. “A Wrinkle in Time,” “Don’t Let Go,” “When They See Us,” “The Invisible Man” and James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad.”
