Storm Malik batters UK: Man pulls himself from van crushed by fallen tree

A man says he is “very lucky” to be alive after being pulled from a van crushed by a tree that fell in Storm Malik’s strong winds.

Richard Nutter was changing in the back seat of his vehicle after a ride in Apperley Bridge in Bradford when the tree fell on top.

He was initially trapped but Lee Warriner, his friend, managed to free him from the wreckage.

After the incident, Mr. Nutter received minor injuries and was able to tell the BBC that he was okay. “a very lucky man”.
