Steve Blackman Developing ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’Netflix Series Deal

AsThe Umbrella Academy is headed for its fourth and final season, the series’ executive producer/showrunner Steve Blackman has re-upped his big, eight-figure overall deal with the streamer.

Blackman will now write and produce new series under his Irish Cowboy production banner. This multi-year deal is effective immediately. Two sci-fi series are in development at the moment. Horizon Zero Dawn, based on the PlayStation action-adventure game, and ISS drama Orbital.

Netflix had been looking to put together a TV series based on Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero DownThe story is set in a postapocalyptic United States, inhabited by robotic creatures, and follows Aloy, a clever outcast hunter, for the past few weeks.

Horizon Zero Dawn and Orbital are elevated, event-level projects grounded in characters that fans will love and relate to, which are hallmarks of Irish Cowboy productions,”Blackman. “We’re thrilled to be working with Netflix and all of our partners on developing these ground-breaking stories.”

Blackman has appointed Abbey Morris, Fabrik Entertainment’s executive, as SVP Development. She worked for Fabrik on series like Bosch, The Killing. American Odyssey The ComediansThe true crime TV show was produced by. Interrogation.
