The latest Hindi action biopic based on the life of Param Vir Chakra recipient Captain Vikram Batra, “Shershaah” (The Lionheart) will soon hit the audience’s screens via an OTT release. Here’s all the latest information you need to know from the team of Shershaah regarding the OTT release.
Shershaah is the Hindi language directorial debut of the renowned filmmaker Vishnuvardhan from the Tamil movie industry. The movie speaks for the heroes of the Kargil War featuring the story of Captain Vikram Batra, who was posthumously awarded India’s highest and prestigious award for valour and actions during the Kargil War (1999).
Shershaah was initially scheduled for a big-screen release and should have hit the theatres on 2nd July 2021. With the threatening third wave of Covid 19 looming around, a theatre release is not favourable at the moment. Hence the production team is all set to premiere Shershaah, the untold story of war, directly on the OTT platform.
Where will Shershaah be released?
After skipping the big screen release, the production team has confirmed that Shershaah will be released on Amazon prime Video. According to reliable sources, we have word that the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has signed a deal with the team of Shershaah for a favourable release. The official announcement from both parties is expected to reach us soon.
When is the OTT release date of Shershaah?
We do not have a confirmed release date for Shershaah yet. The movie had initially set the worldwide theatre premiere for July 2020 but Covid 19 changed the plans and delayed the shoot. The newly announced release date of July 2021 has also been indefinitely delayed, so it is not possible to give an exact update on Shershaah’s OTT release date right now. We hope it will be made official sometime around the next month or so.
Shershaah movie cast
The movie features a stellar cast including Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. Siddharth will appear in a double role, playing the characters of Captain Batra and his twin brother Vishal batra. Kiara will act opposite him as Captain Batra’s fiance Dimple Cheema. The other cast members of Shershaah include Raj Arun, Jaaved Jaffrey, Rukman Khanna, Shiv Pandit, and Himmanshoo Malhotra among others. The movie is produced under the banner of Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment.
