Persaud was arrested by an officer in Pennsylvania during a sting operation. “sold 70 bags of heroin to the officer on October 28 in the parking lot of the Days Inn at 625 Quentin Road,”WGAL reported. Persaud’s hotel bedroom was searched by police. “Police allege they found approximately 70 grams of bulk heroin, cutting agents, a grinder, and new packaging material within the room. This amount of heroin, uncut, would fill approximately 2,300 additional bags with an approximate street value of $11,500,”The office of the DA.

Persaud provided nearly 22 grams of heroin and two grams of fentanyl for an East Providence undercover investigator. Michael Persaud was sentenced in January 2018 to three years imprisonment for his federal convictions in Rhode Island for trafficking heroine and fentanyl.

Michael was already convicted in Pennsylvania for 16 drug-trafficking charges and conspiracy, but had not been sentenced. Soon after receiving his federal sentence, the Pennsylvania judge sentenced Michael for 96 months to 30 year imprisonment. Persaud was sentenced to between 84 and 25 years imprisonment. This was after the trial court had considered post-sentence motions, and held a hearing.
