On Nov. 19, the Arizona Cardinals traveled to Mexico City to play a major game against San Francisco 49ers. They returned with just one teammate. Kliff Kingsbury, Arizona Republic’s head coach confirmed to Bob McManaman the firing of Sean Kugler, offensive line coach, and running-game coordinator. This was in response to an incident. “incident” This happened just hours before the scheduled game. “We relieved him of his duties, and he was sent home Monday morning prior to the game,” Kingsbury, according to McManamanTweet. “It’s challenging anytime you make a staff change in that type of manner.”
The Cardinals did not elaborate, however sources said that there were several factors involved.ESPNKugler was said to have groped a woman during his visit to Mexico City. An insider claimed that Mexican police were alerted by the football team after they received reports of the incident. Kugler was immediately fired, and forced to go back to Arizona. Although this is shocking news, this is not the first instance of a Cardinals employee disrespecting a woman.
James Saxon, a former running backs coach was charged with assaulting a woman in her house in May 2022.Arizona Sportsreported. Later, after he had pleaded guilty to one case of domestic violence, he quit. He received a sentence of one year imprisonment, which was later reduced by probation.
