The 41-year old mommy blogger was arrested today and is currently being held in jail without bail, pending trial for six counts of aggravated felonies. Children’s abuse.
She was devastated when her 12-year old son fled out of their window. Utah I ran home to ask for help from a neighbor.
“He’s emaciated, he’s got tape around his legs. He’s hungry and he’s thirsty,” that neighbor said when she contacted authorities.
An investigation by the police led to the conclusion that the Franke is a six-time mother and Jodi Hildebrandt is a two-time mother.
Women are being accused of the abuse and neglect that was perpetrated on both the 12-year-old who fled as well as her 10-year-old sibling.
Franke has a reputation for strict parenting, but family members were shocked to hear the accusations of child abuse.
Her nephew Matthew Franke tells Inside Editon that he was “disgusted and horrified” when he learned the details of the case.
Jim Moret also says that no warning signs were raised that would have made his family consider that the cousins could possibly be abused by the mother.
“We always thought she was kind of weird on the stricter side but, nothing that screamed abuse,” explains Matthew.
Franke’s sister Julie Deru echoes that as well, saying: “We were in complete shock. We had no idea what was happening.”
Kevin Franke has taken the six Frankes children to his home, where they are with him. Their mother remains behind bars, awaiting her second appearance in court next week. Kevin and Ruby Franke had been apart for almost a full year before her arrest.
Around 2021, the popularity of their YouTube channel “8 passengers” began to fall after viewers complained about Frankes strict parenting style. This channel was removed earlier this year.
Franke and Hildebrandt still have not entered pleas.
