They are set to collectively complain to regulator Ofcom — for what is believed to be the first time.

The BBC refused to show the Royal Family the two-part documentary — called The Princes and The Press — despite requests.

The broadcaster is also said to have failed to give the royals right to reply — amid claims that the programme will allege warring siblings Princes William and Harry instructed courtiers to plant smears against each other in the press.

Sources close to the palace say that William, Charles and the Queen could impose a boycott on the national broadcaster if they don’t remove the claims.

Amol Rajan (38), is the host of BBC2’s anti-monarchist programme.

The Central Recorder has learned that lawyers were placed on alert by senior royals last night.

A senior royal source stated: “Nothing is ruled out.”

Central Recorder revealed last Sunday that senior royals were told they could sue Netflix because of their portrayal in The Crown.

Charles and William, the Spokesmen of the Queen, declined to comment.

According to the BBC: “The programme is about how royal journalism is done and features a range of journalists.”

TV insiders stated that BBC guidelines require news and current-affairs documentaries to provide rights of reply when appropriate.
