Queen Attends Great Grand-Grandsons Joint Christening Ceremonies

Queen Elizabeth II attended the christening ceremony of her great-grandsons this weekend.

Her Majesty’s grand-daughters, Princess Eugenie Tindall and Zara Tindall A joint christening was heldThe Evening Standard reports that their babies were at Windsor’s Royal Lodge on Sunday evening.

The royal cousins had their babies within weeks of one other earlier in the year. Eugenie was blessed with August Philip Hawke Brooksbank’s first child on February 9, and Tindall welcomed Lucas Philip Tindall on April 21.

Both babies were given Philip as the middle name to honor the late Duke of Edinburgh.

According to The Evening Standard, the Sunday ceremony marks the first ever joint royal christening to be held in the UK.

“Masters August Brooksbank and Lucas Tindall were christened in a private family service at All Saints Chapel, Royal Lodge, Windsor, today. The service was attended by The Queen, immediate family and close friends,”Rebecca English, Royal Editor at the Daily Mail Tweeted

According to the Evening Standard, Prince Andrew and the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge were also present.

The Queen was photographed wearing a matching green jacket and hat. She left the serviceThe Telegraph published the photos. According to The Telegraph, the monarch was determined to attend the ceremony in spite of recent health problems.

A sprained back forced the Queen to withdraw from a Remembrance Day service on November 14, as she was unable to continue.

In October, the Queen canceled a trip to Northern Ireland based on medical advice from her doctor and later spent the night in the hospital for “preliminary investigations.”

Insider reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment but they did not respond immediately.
