Since receiving her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, the Princess of Wales has kept a low profile, with only a couple of public appearances in recent months. Just two notable moments have come from her: attending the King’s birthday parade in June and presenting the trophy at Wimbledon’s thrilling final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. However, it seems the wait is nearly over, as insiders reveal that Kate’s recovery is progressing fabulously, and she is poised to return to her public-facing duties very soon.
This summer has been all about cherished family moments for the Waleses at Balmoral. They’ve been soaking in the sun while enjoying activities like fishing and watching their kids play games together. Yet, as summer culminates, royal biographer Phil Dampier believes it’s time for the Princess to re-engage with her public responsibilities.
Dampier stated, “It’s a very good sign that we’ve seen Kate twice in recent weeks; first at Trooping the Colour and then at Wimbledon. Clearly, she’s feeling much better, and this suggests she’s on the mend. We can expect her back in action pretty soon—likely within a month or so, as we transition into autumn.”
He added, “We can anticipate her gradually stepping back into public engagements, but ultimately, it will depend on her medical team’s advice.”
When Princess Kate was diagnosed, Prince William was understandably shocked. Dampier reflects that such news is a significant blow for anyone, especially someone of Kate’s age. This emotional turmoil was evident, particularly when William withdrew from the memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece, an event Dampier believes may have coincided with the day he received Kate’s diagnosis.
As the world captured William and Kate’s heartfelt video message congratulating Team GB following the Olympics, it became clear that Princess Kate’s indomitable spirit remains intact despite her challenges. She radiated positivity, as she had when she publicly announced her cancer diagnosis.
Dampier believes Kate possesses an “inner core of steel.” He comments, “She’s a strong character and bears resemblance to the late Prince Philip.” He elaborates, “Her mental fortitude is extraordinary. Even amid her health struggles, she often portrays strength, which is essential for her children.”
Dampier continues, “She wants them to see that she will come through this, and if she can remain strong, that energy will surely resonate with William and their children.”
