Nick Underwood, an engineer at NOAA captures images and videos of Hurricane Ian’s eye and shares his experiences in a series tweets.

Florida has been hit by Hurricane Ian. The scenes have been horrific. People are sharing clips and images of the hurricane.

Nick refers to himself as “Nick” amid all of this. “Hurricane Hunter”To experience the storm, I decided to take off in a plane.

Nick Underwood is who?

Nick is an aeronautical engineer who dreams to be an astronaut. In one of his tweets, Nick revealed he had flown storms for the last six years but the experience gained through hurricane Ian is one he won’t forget.

He currently works with NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and keeps his followers updated about his experiences on social media.

Photos taken of the eye hurricane

Nick took photos of the eye and shared them via social media on September 28. He captioned the picture as: “I have flown storms for the last six years. This flight to Hurricane #Ian on Kermit (#NOAA42) was the worst I’ve ever been on. I’ve never seen so much lightning in an eye.”

He continued: “This was the eye. You can see the curvature. Understand this is at NIGHT. The light is from LIGHTNING”

Nick also shared the video and called it the “roughest flight”He was on.

He stated: “When I say this was the roughest flight of my career so far, I mean it. I have never seen the bunks come out like that. There was coffee everywhere. I have never felt such lateral motion.”
