Paul Bettany Joins Tom Hanks in Robert Zemeckis’ ‘Here’Adaptation

Paul Bettany has joined Tom Hanks and Robin Wright in Miramax’s “Here,”According to someone familiar with the project’s details, Robert Zemeckis, Academy Award winner, will direct it. Eric Roth wrote it.

Miramax International Rights will be released internationally by Miramax. The film will be theatrically distributed in the United States by Sony Pictures. Zemeckis and Jack Rapke’s ImageMovers will produce alongside Miramax’s Bill Block.

The project will be adapted from Richard McGuire’s graphic novel, which tells the story of a journey through time and memory. The film is centered around one geographic place in New England — which develops from wilderness to a residential property. The film is about love, loss and struggle as well as hope and legacy. It spans generations of couples and families.

“Here”Hanks, Wright and Zemeckis reunited, having last collaborated. “Forrest Gump, Which Six Academy Awards won, including Best Picture.

Bettany most recently appeared in Amazon Studios and the BBC’s “A Very British Scandal,” opposite Claire Foy. He was also seen as Claire Foy. ‘Vision’In the Disney+ series “WandaVision,”This earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Anthology Series or Movie.”He was previously a star as ‘Vision’The Marvel films “Captain America: Civil War,” “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Other credits include “Uncle Frank”Alan Ball, Academy Award winning film by writer/director “A Beautiful Mind,” Peter Weir’s “Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World,”Nominated for Academy Award “Margin Call.”

He will appear in the Miramax dramedy “Harvest Moon,”From a script he wrote with Dana Brown, and is now producing. He will soon also star in “The Collaboration”On Broadway, currently filming a film adaptation.
