WHEEL of Fortune host Pat Sajak had to shade a contestant who missed what fans considered a “brutally easy”Puzzle solved with only one letter on Monday’s episode
Keke made a surprising selection, but the 75 year-old did not let her down lightly.
Los Angeles-based caregiver, landed on an “Express $1000″Mid-game card on the wheel
She would get $1000 for each correct letter in the puzzle. However, she would be bankrupt if one was not found.
“Are you gonna do this Kiki?”Pat asked her for an explanation. “There are no vowels left, if you miss a letter it will be a bankrupt.”
“Let’s do it!”Keke replied confidently, and she correctly selected an item. “F,”Three “L’s.”
There was only one missing letter on the board. “Savor That Local Flavor”Only the “C”In “Local.”
“So you have one more letter you can call for $1000 bucks, which one would you like?”Pat encouraged her, as he was certain she would get it.
Keke shocked to choose a “Y”She seemed to believe that the solution was “Savor the Loyal Flavor”I didn’t know. “Y”Was a vowel.
Pat declared her wrong and her $6K disappeared. Keke realized her mistake too late. She offered her hand and exclaimed “oh no!”
Pat, instead of comforting her, simply shot her in the head: “Yeah, you have no money.”
Keke then moved on and looked so sad, without any positive words.
However, Wheel of Fortune fans couldn’t make it happen. They were stunned by Pat’s ineptitude and more by his decision to choose to go with a “Y.”
“Keke, no! Not the ‘loyal flavor,'”One viewer tweeted.
“She said the ‘y’ so confidently #wheeloffortune SAVOR THE LOYAL FLAVOR,”He shouted at another.
“Oh man a woman just totally blew it with one letter missing on Wheel of Fortune. That was brutal,”A third was written.
“Savor the Loyal Flavor? Wheel of Fortune. Come on now. Even if there was only 2 seconds to solve I would of gotten that,”I wrote a fourth.
“Never tried loyal local flavor .. hmm”As many as 50 people were stunned to hear that statement, a fifth wrote it. “Savor That Loyal Flavor”This was not an easy way to go broke.
Pat is not afraid of awkward interactions.
Last week during an interview, Pat decided to mock a player named Val after she revealed her unusual wedding theme.
“… Speaking of funny things with my husband, we did a pirate sunset cruise – that’s how we got engaged,”Pat was also there at that time.
“So on the way back home we thought what if we had a pirate wedding?”
She said, “And we told parents that when it was time to go home and we were able to get our kids back. [were]We were met with many blank faces.
“But we did it! We had swords, helm wheels everything at the wedding.”
“Wow,”Pat responded, “Not showing much excitement.” “Wedding party like [you] had a parrot on your shoulder?”
“No parrots”She answered. “No live animals.”
Pat then concluded sarcastically: “Good to have you here, I think.”
The tension between the two of them did not end there. Val was able to solve the final puzzle to add $40K more to her total. Pat called Val a “Tense Moments.” “show off.”
Val then celebrated and continued: “Get out of here,”And she started to walk away, not knowing if he meant it.
“No, no, don’t actually get out of here I mean ‘get out of here’ ah never mind,”Pat took a wrong turn, and Val was left unsure if she should stay or go.
Earlier this month, he slammed a player named Katie for “making up claims that weren’t true” after she confessed that she used to tell people she was related to Pat’s co-host Vanna White.
The week before, he appeared to make another contestant uncomfortable after asking her if she was married and then telling her: “You’re a fine woman.”
Pat may have lost patience with certain players but viewers might not be able to see these moments as often.
Pat previously hinted at stepping away from the game he has hosted for four decades alongside Vanna.
He said ET back in September: “In most television shows by this time, you would have said, ‘That’s probably enough,’ but this show will not die.”
“It appears I may go before the show,”Pat added.
The TV star- who has received plenty of backlash- then said: “Years go by fast. We are nearing the end. It has been a long journey. [time].
“We’re not gonna do this for another 40 years. The end is near.”
“It’s an honor to have been in people’s living rooms for that long. People were out there welcoming us. We’re happy and proud,”Pat concluded.
