Palm Worms are a delicious delicacy that locals in Brazil and Cameroon love.

Although they may not be right for everyone, palm worms might be a good option if you are looking for something nutrient-rich that will make your skin wiggle a bit.

Palm weevil larvae, also known as fos or white worms, are quite dangerous in the areas where they occur.

They can grow up to look like this beetle, but until then, they’re a meaty treat.

The bark of palm trees is used to harvest the squigglers. Cameroon’s men often use machetes to cut down trees and hunt for worms.

The larvae are rich in vitamins and minerals and can be eaten raw, or grilled. They can be described as a mild form of shrimp. Or like cheese.

Brazil is also home to palm worms and they are called chontacuro.

Since many generations, the worms were a source of food for various cultures. And while they may not win any beauty contests, they’re gaining popularity in urban areas, as well.
