The Pearsons’ story on NBC is coming to an end… but is it for good? While the sixth and last season of This is Us premiered this week, there’s already been questions about extending the series in some way or continuing some of the characters’ stories in a Spinoff seriesYou will find it somewhere else. What about a movie? One of the Big Three actors was totally open to the idea.
Kevin is played on the show by Justin Hartley This is Us, who is one of Jack and Rebecca Pearson’s triplets. Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Kate (Chrissy Metz) round out the Big Three. Hartley had an intriguing idea when Hartley spoke to them. Access HollywoodAbout the possibility of continuing this franchise.
The idea of a movie trilogy is interesting because each movie could concentrate on one of the Big Three and explore the details of their lives. But as a viewer, Dan Fogelman will have a lot to show us when he wraps up this series. Six seasons later, Fogelman continues to amaze fans, taking our Pearsons down paths they never thought possible, like the announcement that Kate will marry Phillip, her co-worker.
An option has been mentioned, although in an unofficial capacity. It would be a spinoff series that would feature a different character than the Big Three. Randall’s daughters – Tess, Annie, and Deja – for instance would be amazing to explore in their own series, or Toby and Kate’s son Jack, who is blind and appears in a This is UsFlash-forward to becoming a famous musician. Justin Hartley also had another idea. He tweeted it during the Season 6 premiere.

Sterling K. Brown for his part has said that while he was excited about the possibilities that await him after Randall Pearson, any spinoff project that involves This is UsDan Fogelman, the creator, is worth your consideration.
For now, any wishes about prolonging the Pearsons’ journey may just be fans’ grief manifesting into pipe dreams, but the world of the show really does seem big enough that there would be possibilities for something in the future.
