Officials Discover a Rare Albino Jaguarundi Cub in Colombia

For the first time, a rare albino female cub was discovered in northwestern Colombia.

To save the feline, authorities teamed up with volunteers from the fire department.

Officials believe that albinism in cubs makes it more difficult to survive in the wild, as they are predisposed for certain health disorders.

They also have a disadvantage in nature because they cannot camouflage and are easy to be seen.

The only option for this cub is to spend her days at a park.

Jaguarundis is a puma that is native to North America and South America. They are usually solitary and only come across other jaguarundis when they are mating.

After receiving a careful medical exam, this unique cat will be off to a conservation park in Medellin.
