One father was devastated and cried as he remembered an event that had changed his life. He faced a fate no parent should—it left him and the rest of his family heartbroken.
Tomas Molina was bright as a youngster and had the rest of his adult life ahead of him. He was hardworking and it was very likely that he would be successful in the future. The 12-year-old boy from West Hempstead, Long Island was close with his father.
The two were even the same names and spent as much time together as they could. Tomas’ father didn’t know that his efforts in trying to protect his son would fail, and that it would have such devastating consequences.
The Father Tried His Best to Protect His Son
Tomas desperately wanted his dad to take him to work on an ordinary Sunday morning, October 2, 2022. He was proud of the youngster and looked up to him.
The dad was a construction worker and was reluctant to bring his son. Tomas’ father recognized the dangers associated with his job and decided to keep his precious child at home.
Unexpected Tragedy
Tomas’ father said goodbye to Tomas as he does every day, not knowing that tragedy was on the horizon. His worst nightmare was realized while he worked.
Tomas asked his mother permission to work at his friend’s house on a school project. She was likely pleased to see her son dedicate his time to studies and she agreed. Unfortunately, that was the last time she saw her son.
Tomas, who was on his way to the home of a friend, died unexpectedly. He was crossing West Hempstead’s street when a vehicle struck him. He sustained injuries that eventually led to him passing away at the hospital.
He was a clever and kind boy
After his namesake died, the dad was devastated.. He had a dream of seeing his child achieve their goals and make the whole world a better place. It was tragically not meant to be.
The West Hempstead superintendent offered their prayers and thoughts to the grieving family. They talked about the youngster’s potential, which was suddenly and unfairly thwarted in a matter seconds. Add:
“Tomas was heading towards the honor roll. Tomas had a huge smile and was always willing to lend a hand to a classmate.”

The Family was Shattered
Tomas’ dad Family members expressed their heartbreak, saying that it was hard for them because they were close-knit.
Nearby neighbors said that accidents and other incidents are not common. Tomas’ death was not an inexplicable tragedy. We will do our best to prevent similar tragedies from happening again.

Support for the Boy’s Loved Ones
Emily Aghabi set up a GoFundMe page for the family. She felt their pain and asked for help from the online community. She :
“I can’t even imagine how they are feeling and I would like to help them. Please West Hempstead let’s help this family so they can lay their baby boy to rest.”
