Beata Filipek experienced an immediate reaction to fentanyl in a cosmetic operation

Beata Filipek, 57, claims she was given fentanyl during the procedure. This led to permanent brain damage.

The grandmother-of-three is a Polish national. She is believed to have exercised every single day. However, she was suffering from bone loss in the lower jaw and needed implants to keep her looking good.

She booked in for the £18,569 procedure at a private dental clinic in Lublin, eastern Poland, on April 13 and was supposed to have her aunt pick her up afterwards.

The next day, she texted her aunt to let her know that surgery was proceeding and that it would last for 90 minutes plus two hours to recover from anaesthesia.

Beata’s aunt called Beata on 7pm, but Beata didn’t get a reply so she went to the clinic herself.

Her niece was found unconscious on the mattress with a mask covering her face.

She was taken to the hospital in an emergency. Her sister Dagmara flew from the USA to meet her and find out the truth.

“I entered the doctor’s office under the pretext that I was a client,”She spoke.

“They took my upstairs. He shut the door and I only then admitted that I was Beata Filipek’s sister.

“He became extremely scared and said that he didn’t know what had happened. However, her blood pressure began dropping.

“It was difficult to remove teeth. “I stopped performing the procedure because it was too painful.

“‘I ordered a quick recovery from anaesthesia. But what happened, you have to talk to the anaesthesiologist’.”

Dagmara called an anaesthesiologist, who allegedly said to her: “I don’t know what happened, but she got some convulsions.”

Beata had only three teeth extracted and no implants because the doctor wasn’t available to do so.

The clinic was supposed to return the money for the unfinished procedure.

A MRI scan of Beata, 57 years old, revealed that she had irreversible damage to her brain.

Ellie Mae Fitgerald 26, mother of Beata and Beata’s three grandkids, spoke from her West Yorkshire home. She said she was still shocked by the events that took place to her mother-in law.

“I am completely devastated. I have told my three children that their grandmother will never recover from her injuries,”She spoke.

“We all have to fly to Poland next Wednesday to say our farewells.

“She has been transferred from hospital into a rehabilitation centre, but doctors told me that she is brain dead. She will never recover.”

“A few weeks back she opened her eyes, which gave us some hope. However, doctors have confirmed that there is no further treatment.

“She was so healthy and fit before the surgery. We need answers to why she is so sick.

“Apparently she was given fentanyl and she has reacted to it.”
