My 20-year career as a flight attendant has taught me a lot about why we should not be asked for coffee.

Then she told The Thrillist: We all hate to serve coffee. I don’t know why it’s so important for flight attendants but it is.

For all the things that make flight attendants nervous, passengers are changing how they drink their coffee.

We give the black one to them first. They say no and then they ask for cream and sugar.

“It’s all bad coffee anyway, what does it matter how you take it?”

It’s important to avoid this on the plane.

Caffeinated drinks having a similar effect on the body as alcohol during a flight.

Drinking coffee before a flight can cause frequent trips to the bathroom, with dehydration causing an increased need for the toilet.

You should be aware that caffeine may cause migraines or insomnia. This is not a good idea if you need to get sleep while on the plane.

Kevin Kwan (author of Crazy Rich Asians) has also traveled the globe and shared his reasons for not drinking coffee in planes.

As well as booze, Kevin avoids drinking caffeine too, saying: “I also don’t take caffeine at all. I have my ritual.”

You can avoid jetlag by avoiding coffee.

Samantha Brown, a television host and traveler, stated that the best way to avoid jet lag is to plan your journey days in advance.

Then she toldTravel + Leisure: “I try to limit caffeine a few days before I leave on a trip so it is totally out of my system when I land.

“I try to wait to have more caffeine until I’m about to collapse and that is when I allow myself to have a double espresso.”

She continued: “It hits me so hard that my body is depleted so I can go the rest the day.”
