Ne-Yo got engaged in 2010 while on a Dominican Republic vacation. Their relationship ended in abrupt 2013 only two months before they were married.

Monyetta Shaw, who are you?
Monyetta Shaw (42), is an actress from Shreveport. She started her career as a cohost on the No. 1 R&B radio station in the area.
Shaw discovered acting while performing in school and church plays.
After graduating from Southern University’s Shreveport campus and Louisiana Tech University, she decided to pursue acting as a career.
She was soon offered a role in 2008’s Soul Men film. However, her roles have been limited and her last film role was in 2020’s All That Matters.
With the release of I Wish I Had Never Met You (her upcoming film) and Marcel, her acting achievements have increased.
Shaw has also been on The Dish and, following her breakup from Ne-Yo (2010) Shaw received a call asking her if they would invite her to join The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Shaw found out she was pregnant with her first child in 2010, a year after she started dating the R&B singer Ne-Yo.

Shaw claimed that she fell in love with NeYo more after having their child. In 2010, NeYo proposed to Shaw at Fabolous’ birthday in the Dominican Republic.
“We were in a suite, and he told everybody to be quiet,”She said.
“He pulled my hand, dropped down to one knee, and I immediately started crying. He incorporated the lyrics from his song Make Me Better and pulled out a 10-carat diamond ring.”
Shaw was pregnant with their second child in 2011. Shaw and Shaw’s relationship began to crumble.
She was living on her own in Atlanta, Georgia while Ne-Yo was in Los Angeles.
“I told him, ‘Our family should be in LA with you,’ but he was adamant that his family grow up in Atlanta,”Shaw said.
Shaw told Mason that Ne-Yo was there with her when she gave birth to Mason and gave Mason a high five after the baby was born.
Shaw informed the doctors immediately after Mason was born that she wanted to have her fallopian tubes burned.
It was a decision that she and NeYo had made in months prior to their due date.
To show their sole commitment to one another, they agreed that Ne-Yo would also have a vasectomy.
But, Ne-Yo called Shaw in June 2013 to inform him that he no longer wanted to be in monogamy with Shaw two months prior to their wedding.
Shaw noticed that Ne-Yo was in a relationship to Crystal Renay shortly after and realized that he hadn’t actually had the vasectomy he promised.
Shaw said it was her greatest regret.
“Now I look back and wonder what I was thinking,”She said. She said, “I love hard. And I made so many permanent choices based on what a man wanted of me, not what was best for me.”
“When my daughter is grown, I will tell them that the body is her temple. Don’t do anything to it you don’t want to regret.’”

Is Moynetta Shaw married?
Shaw was married to Heath Carter in an event that was star-studded in November 2021 at The Biltmore, Atlanta.
Although Carter is the CEO at several companies, Shaw was drawn by Shaw’s dedication to his family.
She stated that Carter would make sure Carter was there for his children, despite his hectic schedule.
“I would literally see him rearrange his schedules, have huge deals on the table, and he’s like, ‘No, I have to go see my daughter, and I have to make sure this is done.’
“That honestly, was one of the main things that made me be like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ Just the love that he had for his children, first and foremost,”She stated that Us Weekly’s “Hot Hollywood” podcast.
Shaw claimed that Carter was her immediate connection and that they have continued to be in love after their marriage.
“I’m enjoying married life thoroughly. I really am,”She shared her story Essence. We were together some years before but it’s nice to be married and just have that connection and [say] ‘This is my husband, I’m your wife.’”
