While Ohio State football might not have won, they still received a spotlight on Miss USA’s stage.
Miss Ohio Nicole Wess paid tribute to the Ohio State Buckeyes football team on Sunday — just a day after their crushing loss to the University of Michigan — during the pageant’s State Costume Contest.
Wess wore a red Buckeyes uniform and matched it with red sneakers.
She carried a Buckeyes helmet that also featured the logo of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats — where she’s currently a student — to celebrate the Bearcats’ undefeated season.
The Ohio State-Michigan rivalry is one of college football’s most intense. With a score of 42 to 27, the Wolverines defeated the Buckeyes for the first time since 2011.
Wess, aged 23, is among the 51 women competing to win the Miss USA crown and the chance of competing in Miss Universe next year.
She is currently pursuing her doctorate in pharmacy and working at a COVID-19 pharmacy.
