Man completes a 3,000-mile trip to row across the Atlantic Ocean

A record-breaking rowing trip by an Irishman from New York City to Ireland took 112 days. It covered 3,000 miles and took him 112 days.

Damian Browne left Chelsea Piers on July 14 to attempt to reach Galway.

Former rugby player, aged 42, battled gale force winds and punishing waves in a 20-foot boat. It capsized three times.

He hid in his watertight cabin for a few days.

He was able to FaceTime his 14 month-old daughter using a satellite phone.

One point, the water was calm enough to swim in. The brave rower also recorded a pod dolphins he saw along the way.

Browne, exhausted, finally reached his goal when he arrived at Galway port.

Browne has used his journey to raise money and support four charities. Visit this site for more information https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/projectempower2022.
