The Shocking Revenge Porn Story of Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu: A Cautionary Tale for All!
LOVE Island’s Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu has bravely opened up about her harrowing experience as a victim of revenge porn, an ordeal that left her feeling “traumatised.” This shocking revelation has ignited discussions on privacy, consent, and the terrifying realities of modern dating.
At just 29 years old, Ekin-Su faced a nightmare when a former boyfriend threatened to release intimate photos she had once shared, turning her life upside down in an instant.
In an exclusive interview with Central Recorder on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine, Ekin-Su recounted a chilling incident. During a date with someone she met on Tinder, her phone mysteriously went missing. Afterward, the individual showed up at her home with a new phone, an action she now considers a major *red flag*.
“It should have been a red flag that it wasn’t in the box, but I was thinking, ‘He’s spoiling me, he loves me,’” she reflected, revealing how easily trust can be misplaced.
As their communication continued, Ekin-Su started receiving alarming emails to her work address. “It said, ‘I know everything about you.’” These messages escalated quickly, eventually including an intimate image of her in lingerie – a photo she had previously shared with an ex. “I thought it must be spam, but they attached a picture of me that I had sent to my ex,” she lamented.
Despite her attempts to disregard the emails, they persisted, becoming increasingly invasive. One email threatened to share personal conversations if she didn’t comply with their demands. “It was basically revenge porn, but the police couldn’t do anything,” she stated, expressing her frustrations with the inadequate response from law enforcement.
In a moment of courage, Ekin-Su decided to confide in her ex-boyfriend, who wisely recommended that she contact the police. “The police asked if I had met anyone new or received gifts. Of course, it was that guy. I felt so silly,” she admitted, showcasing the bewilderment that can often accompany such deeply personal violations.
“I was really traumatised. Now I look for signs and I cut people out early,”

Following this ordeal, Ekin-Su had to delete her phone, iCloud, and emails in a desperate bid to regain control over her privacy. She reflected on her experience during her time on Love Island, worrying if anything from her past would resurface, although fortunately, it did not.
“But I still worry now that stuff might come out,” she added contemplatively. The trauma of being threatened and humiliated left a lasting impact, shaping how she navigates relationships moving forward. “Now I look for signs and I cut people out early. I need to protect myself,” she affirmed, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and caution.
Despite her troubling past, Ekin-Su is currently enjoying single life and dating again, using apps like Raya. “I’ve always gone from one relationship to another, so now it’s about learning what I want and need in a partner before I settle down,” she said, illustrating her growth and resilience in the face of adversity. In doing so, she not only empowers herself but also spreads awareness about the critical issue of revenge porn, urging others to stay vigilant.
